Unless you live in northern Minnesota, you probably missed this world premiere (as did I), but the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe screened the new Rick Anderson film THE JINGLE DRESS TRADITION at the tribe’s movie theater on Feb 10th and 11th. The film has been picking up some great feedback, and it’s a beautifully shot documentary about the Jingle Dress, a co-production of the Mille Lacs Band and Twin Cities Public Television (TPT). Well, I've got some exciting news!

On Sunday, February 28th, the hour long film will air on TPT and we can all watch it streaming online! There are several air dates, so if you miss one, please check out another one! Even more, if you go to this TPT link right now — PREVIEW — you can watch THE JINGLE DRESS TRADITION trailer!

Why oh why am I promoting this particular TV movie? Well, because, I composed and produced the music score! My original score is orchestral with American Indian drums and Native American wood flute, but there are featured songs from traditional singers, and of course many many tobacco-lid jingles! Some of the music score is background underscoring, but there is an extended dramatization of the first ever jingle dress dance. So needless to say there is a “dream” scene (leading to the first jingle dress dance) with some powerful dramatic scoring, and I’m happy with how it all turned out!

So for those who have asked me, "where-oh-where can I watch a movie that you’ve scored?" Here is a wonderful chance! Click the links below, and thanks for tuning in!

I hope to catch an airing of this. My granddaughters are captivated by the jingle dancers. I want to teach them more and feed the flame in their hearts. Thanks so much for sharing
