But there’s more!
Not only are these two concert works performed in the concert hall, but each composer watched a corresponding film while composing, writing each respective piece to synchronize with the timeline of a particular movie. Ms. Kupsky and Ms. Agar, participated in my “Film Scoring for Filmmakers” workshop, the same workshop I facilitated at the Green Bay Film Festival last year. The recordings from the CSGB concert will be edited into the movies, and the final films — with film music scores — will be screened at the Green Bay Film Festival 2017. So again, congratulations to both composers for some very fine work!

“Following the traditional season-opening performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” (always heartening), two brief pieces from films were played by student composers studying with Brent Michael Davids. Brought to life was a mellow flow by Lyndsey Agar, who is studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and spy film action-tension by Rayna Kupsky, 14, of Gresham” [2 Oct 2016, Warren Gerds]. |
